TEACHER CERTIFICATION
Empowering Educators with Structured Literacy Training
Raising Hands Tutoring helps teachers build the knowledge and skills they need to support struggling readers.
We offer scholarships for educators to complete the IMSE Orton-Gillingham Certification Program, a nationally recognized training based on the science of reading.
What We Offer
Scholarships for IMSE’s Orton-Gillingham Certification
Coaching and support from experienced literacy specialists
Opportunities to earn certification hours while tutoring real students
A community of like-minded educators committed to literacy equity
Why It Matters
Most teacher prep programs don’t provide in-depth instruction on how children learn to read. The IMSE program gives educators the tools to reach students with dyslexia and other reading difficulties using evidence-based, structured literacy methods.
Through certification, teachers learn how to assess reading skills, deliver explicit instruction, and adapt lessons to meet individual student needs. It’s powerful, practical training that makes a real difference.
For School Partners
We work with school districts to make certification accessible. Schools receive reduced-cost training, and in return, participating teachers tutor at-risk students in their school. It’s a win-win that supports both professional development and student success.
