PRIVATE TUTORING OFFERINGS:

Orton-Gillingham Tutoring

A teacher and a student participating in a tutoring session.

Our specialized Orton-Gillingham (OG) tutoring is ideal for students with dyslexia, learning differences, or those who need explicit, systematic instruction in reading and spelling.

OG is a science-based, multisensory approach that teaches students how written language works by engaging sight, sound, movement, and touch. It’s not one-size-fits-all—our tutors tailor each lesson to the student’s individual needs and pace.

Orton-Gillingham tutoring includes:

  • Phonemic awareness

  • Phonics and decoding

  • Spelling and encoding

  • Vocabulary building

  • Reading fluency and comprehension

  • Structured, guided writing practice

Our tutors are fully certified in the Orton-Gillingham method and trained to deliver high-impact, individualized support that produces results.

Handwriting Tutoring

A student practicing their handwriting.

Struggling with messy, inconsistent handwriting? We offer targeted handwriting tutoring to help students develop legible, confident writing skills using the evidence based Handwriting Without Tears® program.

This developmentally appropriate, multi-sensory curriculum is designed to:

  • Improve pencil grip and posture

  • Teach proper letter formation (both print and cursive)

  • Support spacing, alignment, and legibility

  • Build fine motor strength and stamina

  • Reduce frustration and fatigue around writing tasks

Perfect for early learners, students with fine motor challenges, or older children needing a refresher in cursive.

Little Readers Circle (Ages 3–5)

Small-Group & Individual Early Literacy Support

Our program focuses on building foundational early literacy skills—including phonological awareness, vocabulary, and print concepts—through play-based, engaging activities designed for young children. Children develop these skills through:

  • Letter sounds & sound awareness (hearing and playing with sounds in words)

  • Print awareness (understanding how books and print work)

  • Early handwriting (forming lines, shapes, and letters in developmentally appropriate ways)

  • Fine motor skills (strengthening hands and coordination needed for writing)

We offer both small-group and one-on-one sessions, based on your child’s individual needs. Each child begins with an initial assessment so we can better understand their strengths and areas for growth and design instruction that best supports their development. As part of our focus on early school readiness, sessions also introduce early math concepts through play and hands-on activities.

Sessions start at $45 per 30 minute session. Sliding scale rates available.
